Our Choices Matter. 02/19/26. Chima Offurum.

The ability to choose lies at the heart of human autonomy. When Moses declares that he has “set before you life and prosperity, death and doom” (Deuteronomy 30:15-20), he presents us with a decisive invitation to choose. Likewise, when Jesus says, “If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me” (Matthew 9:22-25), the responsibility of choice becomes central to discipleship.

During this Lenten season, we will continue to encounter moments that call us to decide where we stand and how we live our faith. May God grant us attentive hearts and discerning minds, so that, guided by divine wisdom, we may choose what leads to true happiness and lasting fulfillment. Amen.
