Abraham’s Blessings are Mine!. 3/26/26. Chima Offurum.

My central theme for the week is the ministry of Jesus Christ as the one who lifts us from death to life. As the week unfolds, we see this divine pattern reflected in the lives of many, and today it appears in God’s covenant with Abraham (Genesis 17:3-9). In that covenant, God establishes a relationship that carries both promise and purpose, one that extends beyond Abraham to all who are drawn into God’s saving plan.

In today’s Gospel (John 8:51-59), the Jews engage Jesus within that same Abrahamic framework, though with misunderstanding and resistance. Even as they move toward rejecting Him, their very dialogue with Jesus places them within the unfolding promise given to Abraham. We are invited to claim that same association, not merely as identity, but as participation in God’s work. Like Abraham, we are called to remain attentive and faithful, allowing God to act through us in bringing His promises to fulfillment.
