Yesterday, we reflected on Moses’ leadership model, focusing on how true leaders take responsibility even for communal actions and engage with their people to seek meaningful solutions. Today, I continue that reflection by highlighting how authentic leaders use relatable narratives to inspire self-driven change. In the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:1-17), Jesus speaks to His audience using the familiar imagery of farming, planting seeds, and nurturing them to bear fruit. This imagery resonated with His listeners, allowing them to connect deeply with the message and how He likens it to the Word of God.
Effective leaders do not overwhelm their followers with distractions. Instead, they focus on what truly matters, shaping thought and action to bring solutions. In today’s Gospel, the aim is to understand God’s intentions for His people. Even when understanding seems out of reach, Jesus, our savior and leader, affirms their worth and urges them to see the value in their spiritual awareness. He says: “Blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
We are immensely privileged to receive such grace. May we follow our true leader, Jesus Christ, who guides us toward lasting joy and fulfilling our life’s purpose. Amen!
