Saint Pio of Pietrelcina is the popular Padre Pio many of us have heard so much about. He was a stigmatist who extraordinarily shed blood on a special day like Good Friday. On his feast day, we remember his deep prayer life, love for the Eucharist, and tender care for souls in confession.
Like Mary, the mother of Jesus, we find true discipleship in the closeness of family bonding and hearing God’s Word and putting it into practice (Luke 8:19-21). Padre Pio’s life shows us that faith, humility, and love are the path to belonging in God’s family. May his witness inspire us to remain faithful children of Mary and obedient followers of her Son. Amen!
