On this Thursday, brothers and sisters, I want to address Christian solidarity, as reflected in the liturgy. Our call to solidarity is a call to live as one body, united in the love of Jesus who binds us together. True solidarity means sharing not only in each other’s joys but also in each other’s burdens, for when one suffers, we all suffer, and when one is lifted, we all rise.
What these mean, brothers and sisters, is that we must make our faith visible through acts of care, compassion, and service. In my Igbo African culture, it means checking in, reaching out, and standing by one another in love. The message in this reflection is that in doing so, our unity becomes a shining witness to the world that Christ is truly alive in us.
