Today’s two readings (the letter to the Colossians 3:1-11 and the gospel according to Luke 6:20-26) are of strong significance for us. Essentially, both readings call on us to detach from worldly temptations and embrace the values of humility, purity, and truth.
We must note that true discipleship means clothing ourselves with Christ and finding unity in Him, beyond the divisions of culture, status, or background.
The moral lesson we must take home includes that when we live by heavenly values rather than earthly ones, we reflect Christ’s presence in our lives and, ultimately, we share in His promised glory.
